Yes, it was. This is so because grapefruit has been identified as one of the fruits with the ability to prevent cancer of the colon and lungs.
So, what exactly is a grapefruit?
It is a tropical plant that belongs to the citrus fruit family. Its healing powers have been discovered long enough and have been used throughout time as a remedy for many diseases. This unique fruit has enough vitamin C, and taking half of a grapefruit provides you with almost the recommended dose needed daily. It also contains a substance called Pectin, which has been known to reduce high cholesterol levels in the blood.
There are different types of this fruit, namely the yellow, red, and pink ones. They can be differentiated by their color and also their levels of concentration. Yellow grapefruit contains the least level of vitamin C compared to the others. The red and pink ones have higher levels of flavonoids (also known as neutralizers of substance) that can fight against cancer by discouraging the rapid development of these malignant cells.

Extracts from grapefruit seeds contain about one hundred species of fungi and about eight hundred species of bacteria, making it a very powerful agent.
