Symptoms ladies need to ensure they are aware of.

So, what is ovarian cancer?

It is a type of cancer that starts in the ovaries. According to our basic biology, we know that every woman has two ovaries. These ovaries are located on each side of the uterus. These two ovaries are not very big, about the size of an almond, and have the main function of producing eggs (also known as ova), and also the female hormones progesterone and estrogen.

It is very unfortunate that this type of cancer mostly goes undetected until it has done major damage to the abdomen and pelvis. If it gets to this stage, ovarian cancer will become more challenging to treat.

This has led to the death of many women around the world.
We know that diseases or illnesses do not just kill people immediately, so ovarian cancer certainly has its early stages. In this stage, the diseases are confined only to the ovary or ovaries, and there is a good chance it can be successfully treated. The best way to treat this early stage of ovarian cancer is through chemotherapy and surgery.

There is no clear cause of ovarian cancer, but we have a theory. Most cancers begin when a normal cell is being turned into an abnormal cell through the process of gene mutation. These abnormal cells are prone to multiplication, and this causes a mass to form. These abnormal cells can either break off from the original tumor or invade tissues that are nearby, thus spreading to other parts of the body. Since these complications are not so easy to spot, it is always advisable to make appointments with professionals in the medical field when you feel that something is not right in your body.

Some of these signs may include:

Pelvic and lower abdominal pain: It is normal to have pains and menstrual cramps during menstrual periods. But when it lasts up to three weeks to a month, it could be a clear sign of ovarian cancer. Women who are going through pre-menopause should also not mistake pains caused by ovarian cancer for pains during menstrual periods.

Constant bloating: If you experience constant bloating for three weeks to a month, it may be time to see a medical professional.

Constantly being pressed: If you are a lady and you need to visit the restroom too frequently without taking so much liquid, it may not be diabetes but ovarian cancer. So, you should see a doctor.
Getting filled easily or having difficulty eating: Whenever you feel like you are not hungry or have difficulty eating, and this constant loss of appetite stretches over a period of three weeks, it may be a sign of bowel, stomach, intestinal, or other health issues. But as a woman, you may need to see a doctor to be sure it is not ovarian cancer.

As a lady, you should be fully aware of whatever is going on on your body. There are always symptoms of various diseases, so pay attention to your body chemistry. If you notice anything strange, please visit a doctor immediately. If this blog was helpful in any way, please like and share our post, subscribe to our blog, and drop your comments.
